crystal repair glass repair
We reduce the circumference of the rim of the
goblet to the base of the chip. Then, we reshape
the rim to match the original bevel of the goblet.
The final steps are polishing the beveled rim of
the goblet to the high luster the piece had prior
to any restorative work. Chips on goblets that
are 1/4 of an inch deep or less are considered
restorations. If the chip is deeper than 1/4 of an
inch, it is considered a repair. The price of
chipped goblets range between $15 - $25. The
price is based on the depth of the deepest chip
and the thickness of the glass.
Chipped Vases & Bowls: The removal of chips on the rims of vases and bowls
are accomplished in the same manner as chipped goblet rims. If the chip is on
the side or bottom we can often reshape the damaged area to visibly blend. We
also match the items' finish even on frosted and satin glass. Pricing for chipped
vases and bowls usually starts at $20. The final price depends on the thickness
of the glass and the amount of damage.
Chipped Figurines: Chipped figures such as animals, fish, birds and art pieces can be
reshaped and the finish matched. Pricing varies depending upon the damage.
Filling Chips: Some chips can be filled. Chips that are on the inside
of lids or chips in rims of goblets that extend into the pattern are good
candidates for fills. Please keep in mind, fills are a visible repair.
Pricing for fills very depending on the amount of the product used,
this service usually starts at $14.

Chipped goblet bases can be repaired. We reduce the base slightly to remove the chip. The bevel is then replaced and the base is polished.
